BBA Launches Inaugural Sustainable Innovator Award

Calling innovators: enter the new BBA Sustainable Innovator Award


Sustainable innovation is accelerating across construction - led by start-ups and SMEs bringing forward new ideas.

 

But getting those products specified and used with confidence is still a major hurdle. Proving performance, reducing risk, and building trust can hold back even the best innovations.

 

In recognition of this, the British Board of Agrément is delighted to announce the launch of its BBA Sustainable Innovator Award

 

Designed to help emerging businesses move from innovation to market confidence, the award aims to give products the platform they need to be recognised and adopted.

 

Why enter?

Bringing a new sustainable construction product to market is only half the challenge.
Getting it trusted, specified, and widely adopted is what drives real impact.

The BBA Sustainable Innovator Award is designed to help you bridge that gap.

 

Who is the award for?

This award is for start-ups and SMEs with sustainable products already in production, but not yet undergoing BBA Certification, offering a unique opportunity to accelerate market acceptance.

 

What you could win

The winning entry will receive a comprehensive BBA certification package, including:

  • BBA Agrément Certificate assessment (or HAPAS for highways and civils products)
  • Full Certification (subject to successful assessment)
  • Three years of planned Certificate maintenance

Total support value: approximately £50,000

 

The winner will be announced at the Construction Products Association Autumn Lunch in November 2026.
